Why Would You Have a White Christmas Tree?

Because with a white tree, you can see the ornaments better! (You might not be able to see him, but Sponge Bob is on the tree, as well as Mr. Bill. That's Hedwig sitting next to Santa and the red thing on the left side is a sash Cali won in a dance competition. Behind Santa is my pop-up book collection, starring the amazing Robert Sabuda. And yes, those are mouse ears on the top of the tree.)

In case you were wondering, we are colorful mini-light people....lots and lots of color.

Why a fake tree? Well, they do last longer and I like to set up early. Plus, I kind of hate the whole dead tree thing at the end of Christmas...kind of depressing.

Favorite time to write: Early in the morning with the Christmas lights on!

My favorite time to write is late at night with the Christmas lights on. Maybe I'll try the early morning hours too.

I never thought about the ornaments showing up better against white. Your tree is lovely.

Now I know why you write children's books. You're just a big kid! hehe...I love it! I look at those white trees in Target and all the funky bright purple and pink ornaments and think how fun it would be to get one.

You're so right about the ornaments not showing up on a regular tree. That's why I have very few green ornaments. :(

I think that's really pretty! Also, I can definitely see your reasons for having a fake tree. We have a real one this year, and while it smells great, I forgot to water it for a few days and it's already starting to die. :( I hope it's not brown on Christmas morning.

I would have a fake tree (green though, sorry) if my husband would go for it. Although I love the smell of a real tree, I hate the mess after Christmas. We are a small, colored lights family, too - love colored lights!! :)

Me, I gotta have real. Love the aroma. But I need small and easy to dispose of, so last year I found a tree that fit in the front seat of my Miata. Perfection!

My mom used to have a fake tree but it was green, not pretty and white like yours. I like the white because it looks like the branches are covered in snow. I do love the smell of a real tree, though...

My mom is a teacher and she had a bright silver tree from the 70's she puts up in her classroom for the students to hang their newly made ornaments on. They love it and it looks fabulous!

Oh, how cute! Jordan would be so jealous. She is dying to get a tree!

It's true that there's something magical about the lights from a Christmas tree.

Why is mine fake? Because then I don't have to hoist a real one on the roof of my car. I mean, those things are heavy!

I love late at night, quiet house, with tree lights on...Silence, beauty, peace...

I LOVE unique trees. I had a white tree when I first got married and decorated it with blue and silver balls. It was beautiful...it seemed to glow. Then I got a fiber optic tree. Now my tree is just a plain green one...I'm looking forward to something unique next year, hopefully. This tree is starting to look ragged!

Your tree is so fluffy and white it reminds me of a carved marshmallow! Those ornaments really do show up.

I may steal the mouse ears idea. You don't mind, do you? Because that's freaking brilliant.

Susan-Let me know how the morning time goes!

Catherine-Thank you....it definitely is colorful.

Kim-AAAAAAAhhhhh! You've found me out!

Renee-I had a tree once in a house I lived in with hard wood floors that was so dead by Christmas that every time you walked by on a particularly creaky floorboard, about a hundred needles would tinkle to the ground.

Shannon-that's why they make nice smelling candles :)

Tricia-I can just picture you driving with a tree in your tiny car...

Julie-Yeah, it would be hard for me to go back to green, now.

Bethany-I always wanted a silver one!!

Corey-If Jordan loves thing bright, colorful and maybe slightly tacky (but in a good way) the, yes, she would probably love it.

Elana-Too true. I have hoisted my share...not fun.

Daisy-I am looking forward to some of that late night time, once school is out.

Steph-I highly recommend white. Although I should tell you that after 5 years, they get pretty dingy and you have to replace it or it just looks sad.

MG-Marshmallow Tree!! I love it!

Carrie-Steal away!!

I plan to take a pic of our tree for my blog, too. Your tree is great! Christmas is just so...magical. *sigh*

We decorated last night (very late this year), and I told my kids how you mingled your characters when we were setting out our display. They thought yours sounded cool. :)

Dawn-Tell your kids that Indiana Jones was just spotted paying his respects to the Baby Jesus in one of the many nativity scenes in the house....

Oh my, I love a white tree! This will be the last real tree year for us. Our tree has been the joke of the season around here. It's fallen three times, the angel has bugs, and last but not least, my husband now has poison ivy on his shoulder...fa la la la la la la!
