Okay, you have to go to Ms. Booksniper's blog where she not only answered my question, but leaked out a very important secret concerning my identity:
I am Neil Gaiman's clone sister.
There, I said it. Make of it what you will.....
AND she gave a great explanation of author branding that every aspiring writer should read.

Agreed. That was the best definition I've heard.
Great question--and great photo, you look just like your clone brother, LOL!
I think you've aged better than your twin brother, or something.
Your clone isn't the only one who writes across genres and age sections. Have you read anything by Shannon Hale? She has books in the adult, YA and MG sections, and they will all make you laugh. Thanks for the link.
Great blog!!! I want to write across genres, but I think I'm going to have to use a psuedonym, especially if I'm writing steamy romance novels and children's books!
LOL.
Thanks for the link. I'm off to check it out now. :)
Look at that!! You ARE Neil Gaiman's cloan.
I've got the same issues (or I guess I will if my books get published!) since I'm writing across genres. Lisa Yee talked about this at a recent SCBWI conference. Instead of a pseudonym, she used her name, but her publisher designed the covers to depict the type of book that she had written (fun, playful cover for her younger books and an edgier looking cover for her ya).

Genius! I'm off to check it out, Ms. Gaiman ("pronounced GAY-MAN", as he puts it).
And I agree with Myrna. :o)
It must be brilliant having a clone or two - imagine the huge amount of work you can get done! One of you can be responsible for the housework one day and the second day you can do role reversals and deal with the writing side !
Cloney awesomeness!!!
haha awesome! i'm clicking over right now!
thanks for the link :D
Shelley - I have to tell you I finally checked out your Good KNight books from the library!! I'm ashamed to say that I just did this since I've been following your blog for quite a while. But, I had to tell you that my kids (7.5 and 4.5) just love them!! They crack up even on the 20th read. Thank you for them!
Best answer ever! Plus, we get to be related. Woohoo!
Great question
