I've got ants right now too! They are disgusting and don't seem to want to go away. What to do? What to do?

So far I've been to three open houses and I have my high school one on Thursday. Ugh! Is it June yet? :-)

What is it with cool shoes? I have so many I love but can't wear. Seductive are those torture devices.
As for ants, non-toxic kitchen cleaner sprays knock them out and keep them away (when you drench where they're coming in)
Your numbers are impressive, by the way!

I just have crickets and spiders right now. Maybe they are eating the ants. And 5000 words so far is GREAT. I wish I could say I've written that much.

ONE---THE NUMBER OF TIMES I SAW YOUR BOOK on the screen in the presentation by an editor from Dutton at the SCBWI-KS...

I was all like, "I blogknow her!"

LOL I hope the shoes were worth it for the blisters they caused you.

You had two birthdays? ;)

I'm thinking you're doing really well with your numbers. :D

No cool shoes here. : (
No ants, but I do have a few spiders "hanging" around. Acually they go into hiding when they see me coming, lol.

I loved the Origami Yoda story! Loved it! So funny and original. Something I aspire too.

May I have your Greek chicken recipe, please? That sounds fantastic right now.

September is a crazy month for us too! My kids all have birthdays within a month plus back to school, meetings, and now we are getting our house ready to sell.
Good luck with the ants. We put ant traps in places where the dogs and kids couldn't get them (make sure they are for the right type that are present) and that seemed effective, but took a while. Also my husband sprayed something around the outside perimeter of the house too. Good luck!

Ha! I've missed you, Miss Shelley. I don't have ants, but we have plenty of stink bugs over here. Nasty little critters. I had one stuck to my car this week. It rode all the way to the grocery store, hanging to the side of my wind shield wiper. I couldn't help but think about how I could turn that into a story. How did you manage 5 back to school meetings with three kids?

September is nuts that way. I keep BandAids in my purse b/c cool shoes are worth the pain.

We have moths everywhere, teeny ones but all over the place. Everyone around here does. There are some good things to be said about the first frost...

Susan-I would have less ants if my girls ever cleaned up their crumbs and stuff....but I have learned not to dream the impossible dream.

Shannon-No....it's still Sept. But barely!

Tricia-I know! They are torturous, but sometimes I just get in a mood....

Jessie-5000 words this month, but I'd hoped for 3x that. pooh.

Sharon-SERIOUSLY??? So coo-el!!! I would love to know which one...which editor and which of the GK books! WOW!!!

Stina-Nope, I only had one birthday, but my sister's is on Monday. We are Sept. birthday buddies.

Susanne-I've learned not to hate spiders so much, at least not the daddy long-legs. But we get BIG spiders in October that actually build webs between the houses.

Laura-I think I am going to make an origami Yoda tomorrow....just because I can. Maybe he will be wise and give me good advice.
"Eat more chocolate you must."

Myrna-it is toooooo easy. Basically, I just sprinkle some Cavender's Greek Seasoning in the crockpot, stick a chicken in it, and sprinkle more Cavender's on top. Then, turn it on low, put the lid on and walk away. We eat it in pita pockets with feta, tzadziki (sp), cucumbers and tomatoes. Yum.

Kelly-If your husband has time to stop by So Cal anytime soon....

Amy-I've missed you, too! 5 back to school nights break down: 1 at the mid school, 2 at the high school (one general, one for show choir) and 2 at my school that I had to appear at, being a teacher and all.)

Anne-I hate those little moths! I had them a few years back...don't know how I got rid of them, but thank goodness they are gone now. HATE them.
