Confessions: The Star Wars Edition

1. Yesterday I wore a sweater that looked like I ripped it off from Obi-Wan Kenobi's closet...and I didn't notice it until the END of the Day! (If I had, I might have worn a lightsaber.)

And we're not talking Alec Guiness Obi-Wan

We're talking Ewan McGregor Obi-Wan:
Not that it would have mattered.

Still oh-so-dorky.

2. My husband recently bought me a coat which we have named the Chewbacca.

As in, "Hey, did you see where I put the Chewbacca? I need to wear it. It's cold."

Seriously

3. And I wanted to buy one of these:

the Chewbacca button, to be exact. So I could keep it in the pocket of the Chewbacca coat and make the special Chewbacca noise at will. (Although the C-3PO button which wails, "We're doomed, DOOMED!" is strangely compelling.)

4. I secretly want to put my family's faces on this:

to make our Christmas card this year.

Yeah. I know.

5. I've got to get off the Star Wars Kick!! It's almost time for Harry Potter!!!

Less than 2 weeks!!!

I'm all a-quiver.

I must get those buttons!
And have you worn your Obi Wan sweater with your Chewbacca coat? All you need is a Princess Leia hairdo.

We are huge Star Wars geeks. When we move, I promised my six year old he could have a Star Wars room. Have you seen the adorable Star Wars bedding and accessories at Pottery Barn Kids?!

Ha ha ha! I love the idea of putting the Chewbacca button in your coat pocket. That would be hilarious! :-)

You think you're bad... my neighbors have their whole house decorated in Star Wars memorabilia and even named their sons George and Lucas. I kid you not!

Your post made me laugh, then Kelly's comment made me laugh even harder. Yes, please wear the sweater with the coat. (Personally, I think the coat looks a little more Ewokian than Chewbaccian.)

Ahhh, now I must go home to watch Star Wars!

A Chewbacca coat would be excellent in cold weather. You are a trend setter, Storyqueen!

Okay, there must be Star Wars vibes in the universe. Earlier this week I had a very vivid dream that I wrote a Board Book (yes, for Babies) called "Star Wars Says." It went something like this:

Yoda says, "There is no try, only do."

Darth Vader says, "Luke... I am your father Luke..."

Artoo Detoo says, "bleep, dee diddly beep neep eep"

C 3PO says, "We're doomed."

Han Solo says, "I have a bad feeling about this."

I kid you not. It was that clear. The funniest part was that I was convinced the idea was genius and that this would be the breakout book for me. :-)

I can not compete with this post or these comments, so I'll just sit here and giggle and snort. :D

Kelly-Shhhh...I actually did my hair in the Princess Leia-do when I was a freshman. Yes, I was one of the cool kids....

Shannon-Yep, I think I am going to have to do it.

Susan-Hahaha! They totally have me beat!

MG-leave it to you to create new words. I definitely want to see "Ewokian" and "Chewbaccian" in the next Websters!

Jo-Watch it you must do. (That was my lame Yoda attempt for the day.)

Roxy-Seriously, I am excited to wear it. If only the weather would cooperate.

Julie-WRITE THE BOOK. (The book you must write!) Yes, I would totally buy it.

Tricia-I know! The comments are funnier than the post!

Susanne-Thanks. Leave it to the blog world to make a silly post even sillier!

That would make a really cute Christmas card! And we all wear dorky clothes now and then. It's allowed.

LOL--I'm right there with you. My husband just bought a star wars shirt all in Japanese at a dollar store. He gets all the high fives when we're out in public.

@Kelly--we have the original of those sheets from twenty years ago--and it's the same print!! My brother took them to college with him...and now my mother keeps them for when the grandkids visit. Those things have longevity!!

Could there be any connection between your love of Star Wars and Harrison Ford? Or just a funny coincidence? I like Star Wars, but I have to confess I'm not IN LOVE. However, I am IN LOVE with that coat. For the record.

Ha! You're cracking me up!

I have never seen Star Wars. I know. I know. But as a kid, it looked awful to me. I was more a Pretty in Pink kinda gal.

But still...

I think I might cave and watch them all.

I'm not usually suspicious of people who wear crowns, unless they insist on carrying a scepter around too.

Paige Keiser said...

LMAO!!!! A friend of mine is a Star Wars fanatic, I'm sending him over here.

Er, um, I totally have a scepter....
