I Have a Bad Feeling About This

My inner editor is Harrison Ford. Usually he takes the form of Indiana Jones. Afterall, you need someone rough and tough (and hopefully with a whip or machete if necessary) to whack their way through the first draft.

However, Harrison/Han Solo paid me a visit just the other day. There I was, feeling oh-so-cocky about finishing my book in an almost 9,000 word marathon push to the end. I remember thinking to myself, "Self, you should back up your document when you get home from work. You forgot to do it yesterday."

But when I openned the computer to do just that.........
I can't even type the words.

my hard drive crashed.

"Don't get cocky, kid."

Yeah, Han, I hear you.
We are working to fix it.....think good thoughts for me.

Fingers, toes and eyes are crossed for you...

I run a virus scan every day...(Our desktop computer crashed twice and we replaced it after having it repaired in the spring...)

Perhaps that handsome picture of Han Solo was some consolation?

No, there is no consolation for lost work. I really do hope you can get it recovered!

Ohnoohnoohnoohnononono! I am so sorry. I hope you've got good computer workers and he/she can save your files. :(
I always have virus protection, but last year I picked up viruses anyway. I now have Malwarebytes (an antimalware program) that runs as a secondary with the antivirus program. Two different computer guys recommended it to me. It seems one program isn't enough in this hacker-crazy world.
I've got every digit crossed for you.

I am so sad for you. I would just scream. And be on pins and needles for like ever! On the flip side, the silver lining and all, a fresh re-write might actually be BETTER, no? But I still hope you can get it back.

omg, ACK! I am sending all possible good vibes your way! 9,000 words? That is unthinkable. BUT it's usually there somewhere... I sure hope that's the case for you. Good luck!

So you lost all the 9K works? Aaaaagh! Good thing is I bet you'll write them even better the second time around! But secretly hoping you're able to rescue them!

*slaps self and reads rest of post*

Ouch! I've had that happen to me, but I ended up losing 200 photos. Fortunately I had emailed my ms to myself, as I do with anything writing wise.

*sends good luck vibes*
